Don’t know what mobile indexing is? Read on. If you are like me, you have multiple devices. Each device is used for a number of activities that are important to you.

You have a mobile phone, which is always within arms reach, 24 hours a day. You cannot live without it. You may have a desktop or laptop which you use for work. You use it mainly for email and surfing websites where you need a larger display.

These days, you get angry when someone calls you on your mobile phone. The person calling you may be interrupting you while you are watching your favorite YouTuber’s daily vlog. I know I have.

Mobile phone technology has dramatically shifted the way we interact with people, communicate and buy things. So it makes sense that the majority of searches occur on mobile devices.

Mobile phones are able to locate and deliver information to use faster than a desktop from anywhere.

Website owners should be aware of this trend, and have probably been gearing up towards mobile responsiveness for a number of years.

Google announced that they will be shifting the search index over the next few months to a mobile index. The announcement should come at no surprise.

As a website owner the recommendations in the blog post point to a few pertinent aspects which are important for search results and search engine optimization (SEO).

All of these aspects are managed through your Google Search Console, previously known as Webmaster Tools.

I would also recommend that you connect Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google My Business and Google Adwords for your website.

The point is simple. Your website should be easy to use on a mobile phone. Deliver a good experience to your visitors. Google will reward you in the long run and mobile users will love you for it.

I am curious to know what you think of this new mobile, and mobile indexing world we live in. Post any questions and comments below.
